The trial of Richard Allen for the 2017 murders of Abby Williams, 13, and Libby German, 14, in Delphi, Indiana, has been postponed to October. Initially set for next week, the change follows a recent hearing where Allen’s defense raised concerns, including their ability to present an alternative theory linking the murders to a religious cult. This theory was not discussed in the latest court proceedings. The prosecution has prepared around 40-45 witnesses, while Allen’s requested 15 days to present his defense were not agreed upon. The trial is now scheduled from 14 October to 15 November.

In a separate legal proceeding, Stormy Daniels testified against former President Donald Trump in a Florida court, alleging an affair in 2006 and describing intimate details that Trump’s defense argued were prejudicial. Daniels’ testimony is part of a case involving alleged falsification of business records linked to hush money payments before the 2016 election. Meanwhile, another trial concerning Trump’s handling of classified documents has been indefinitely postponed by Judge Aileen Cannon, with the timing raising questions about the progression of the legal process ahead of the presidential election.
