Patrick Beverley of the Milwaukee Bucks faces a four-game suspension following an incident with spectators and a contentious post-game interview during the NBA playoffs against the Indiana Pacers.
Milwaukee Bucks guard Patrick Beverley has been suspended for four games without pay following an incident during a playoff game against the Indiana Pacers at Gainbridge Fieldhouse. During the Eastern Conference first-round playoff series, Beverley was ejected from the game for throwing a basketball at spectators. The NBA’s decision comes after the incident, which was captured on video, was investigated by the Indianapolis police.
In addition to the altercation with the fans, Beverley also had an inappropriate interaction with a reporter in a post-game interview, refusing questions from the journalist because she had not subscribed to his podcast. This action, coupled with the altercation, led to his suspension as announced by the NBA.
Beverley, who had been traded to the Bucks from the Philadelphia 76ers earlier in the season, addressed the incident on his podcast, expressing regret and acknowledging that his actions were “inexcusable.” Despite this, he faced criticism from Bucks coach Doc Rivers, who stated that such behavior does not represent the team’s values.
The Bucks’ loss to the Pacers not only led to their elimination from the playoffs but also marked a turbulent end to the season for Beverley, who is now an unrestricted free agent heading into the offseason.
