A Belgian woman’s dismembered body was discovered off the coast of Tenerife, while in a separate incident, a Scottish tourist’s body was recovered from the Vltava River in Prague.
A tragic case has emerged from Tenerife where the dismembered body of a 66-year-old Belgian woman, identified as Laura T, was discovered off the coast of Arico. Laura and her 71-year-old husband, Marc O, had been reported missing since April 22 after they were last thought to be heading to a yoga class in the vicinity of their home. Shockingly, the woman’s body was found with missing limbs and her head covered. An autopsy confirmed a violent death, while her husband remains unaccounted for. Local authorities, aided by CCTV footage that captured a man entering their residence on the night they disappeared, are investigating this as a potential burglary-related homicide. Further suspicions involve Eastern European individuals who reportedly had previous interactions with the couple.
In a separate incident, the body of a British tourist, 29-year-old Joop Sparkes from Galashiels, Scotland, was recovered from the Vltava River in Prague. Sparkes had gone missing early on April 28, after jumping into the river from a party boat. Initially, his friends and family, including his sister and girlfriend, partook in extensive search efforts. A GoFundMe page had also been set up to support the search. His body was found more than 60 hours after he disappeared during a nightlife excursion in Prague, which culminated in his tragic death. The exact reasons for Sparkes jumping into the river are still unclear.
