A former post office building in Dundee’s city centre has been placed on the market for £125,000 following a significant reduction in its asking price. The B-listed property, located at the intersection of Meadowside, Constitution Road, and Euclid Crescent, was originally listed for £500,000 last summer, marking a 75% drop in price.

The current listing from Shepherd Chartered Surveyors indicates that the price reduction aims to facilitate a quick sale. This historic three-storey building dates back to the late 19th century and first served as the General Post Office in the area. It later transitioned into nightlife venues, operating as the Circus and London nightclubs before being acquired by Dundee High School in 2013.

Plans were made by the school to refurbish the building into a £16 million centre for performing arts. However, these ambitions faltered when the school was unable to secure necessary funding, leading to the shelving of the project in 2020. Since then, the building has been on the market, and attempts to find a new purpose for the property have continued.

In 2023, Forester Hall Developments Ltd presented a proposal to convert the site into residential housing, but this initiative did not move forward. The building remains a focal point in the area, continuing to attract interest from potential buyers amid its storied history and evolving future.
