Katie Price faces her second bankruptcy in five years, with a London court hearing confirming she owes over £750,000 in unpaid taxes to HMRC.
Katie Price, a former glamour model, has been declared bankrupt for a second time within five years, following a court hearing in London’s Rolls Building. The declaration, made by Judge Sebastian Prentis, concerns an unpaid tax bill amounting to over £750,000, specifically £761,994.05, owed to HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC). The debt is a result of self-assessment calculations for the tax years 2020-2021 and 2021-2022, which include income tax, VAT, surcharges, and interest. HMRC issued a bankruptcy petition against Price in October 2023 after she failed to respond to efforts to settle the outstanding amount.
This financial setback follows a series of legal and personal challenges for Price, who was also fined £880 last year for driving offences, including operating a vehicle without a licence or insurance. In a separate legal matter earlier in the year, she was ordered by the court to allocate 40% of her earnings from an online adult entertainment platform to trustees due to her unpaid debts.
Price has previously shared her struggles with financial difficulties and mental health issues. Despite these hardships, she has spoken openly about her situation, stating she is not embarrassed by her bankruptcy and is willing to face potential imprisonment as a consequence of her legal problems. This repeated declaration of bankruptcy highlights ongoing personal and financial challenges in Katie Price’s life.
