In a separate incident in Alaska, a Douglas DC-4 aircraft owned by Alaska Air Fuel crashed into the Tanana River near Fairbanks shortly after takeoff, resulting in no survivors. The crash, which happened on Tuesday morning, led to the aircraft bursting into flames. The crash site was approximately 7 miles from Fairbanks International Airport. The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) is leading the investigation to determine the factors leading to the accident. The plane, a historical model first manufactured during World War II, was used predominantly as a freighter at the time of the crash.
