A 31-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder in Southall, west London, after a hit-and-run incident that left a woman in her 20s with life-threatening injuries. The incident occurred on Healum Avenue and the vehicle involved fled the scene. The victim is currently hospitalized in critical condition. Detective Superintendent Rebecca Reeves has called for eyewitnesses, particularly those with relevant video footage, to come forward. In a separate incident in High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire, a police officer was injured after being shot in the leg with a crossbow during a response to a stabbing report on School Lane, Downley. The 54-year-old suspect has been arrested for attempted murder. The officer has been treated and released from the hospital. Thames Valley Police, under Assistant Chief Constable Tim Metcalfe, confirmed the officer’s welfare and stated there is no further risk to the public. The incident has been referred to the Independent Office for Police Conduct for investigation.
