UmaSofia Srivastava, the current Miss Teen USA, has officially resigned from her title, stating that her personal values no longer align with those of the pageant organization. This resignation was announced on her Instagram page and comes shortly after Noelia Voigt, Miss USA, also stepped down citing mental health reasons. The organization behind Miss Teen USA has expressed support for Srivastava’s decision and plans to announce her successor soon.

Srivastava, who held the title of the first Mexican-Indian Miss New Jersey Teen USA, has been active in various social causes and authored a children’s book. Her resignation follows a series of events concerning the Miss USA organization, including allegations of contest rigging and inappropriate behaviors towards contestants, and recent departures within the organization citing workplace issues.

Both Srivastava and Voigt have publicly addressed the importance of personal well-being and aligning with one’s values, emphasizing mental health and advocating for self-care in their resignation announcements. The resignations have garnered significant attention, highlighting ongoing discussions about the culture within the beauty pageant industry.
