Flo Moffat-Charles from Cumbria faces a life-changing diagnosis of primary sclerosing cholangitis and autoimmune hepatitis just two months into her marriage, while her husband plans to run the London Marathon in support.
Flo Moffat-Charles, a 29-year-old newlywed from Kendal, Cumbria, has been diagnosed with a rare and incurable liver disease known as primary sclerosing cholangitis, only two months after her marriage to Josh Charles. Initially experiencing symptoms such as extreme fatigue, nausea, and severe itchiness on her hands and feet, her condition was further complicated by an additional diagnosis of autoimmune hepatitis.
As Flo grapples with her health issues, her daily life has dramatically changed, involving a regimen of 13 medications and the use of ice packs to ease the relentless itching. The severe implications of her condition led the couple to cancel their dream honeymoon to South America.
Despite the challenges posed by Flo’s diagnosis, Josh Charles, who works as a partnerships manager in the events industry, is showing his support by planning to participate in the London Marathon in April. His goal is to raise awareness for the disease and garner support for PSC Support, an organisation dedicated to assisting those affected by primary sclerosing cholangitis.
Throughout this trying period, Josh and Flo are focusing on the strength of their relationship and their determination to face the challenges ahead with optimism.
