No Labels, a third-party political group in the United States, has announced its decision not to field a candidate for the forthcoming presidential election. Joe Cunningham, the national director of No Labels, has revealed his intention to support Democrat Joe Biden against Republican Donald Trump, notably highlighting Robert F Kennedy Jr’s vaccine skepticism as a factor. The group cited the challenge of finding a suitable candidate with a realistic chance of winning as the primary reason for their withdrawal from the race. High-profile individuals such as Nikki Haley, Larry Hogan, Chris Christie, and Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson were reportedly considered by No Labels for candidacy.

The decision comes after the death of the group’s founding chair, Joe Lieberman, which marked a significant setback. Criticism, especially from Matt Bennett of Third Way, has targeted the potential for a third-party run to fragment the opposition to Trump. Nonetheless, Andy Bursky from No Labels hinted at the possibility of revisiting the presidential race in the future, alluding to a strengthened position despite the current setback.

This development occurs within a politically charged environment, with widespread acknowledgment of the low popularity levels of both Biden and Trump. The move by No Labels refrains from introducing another variable into an already complex election landscape.
