In Cambridgeshire, a police officer employed roping skills to safely capture a runaway horse that was galloping through the area, averting potential risks to road users and the animal itself. The police lauded the officer’s actions, which concluded with the horse being returned to its owner.

In a separate incident in London, chaos ensued when two military horses, Quaker and Vida, along with others, spooked by construction activity, bolted through the streets from Belgravia to Shadwell. This incident resulted in injuries to both the horses and personnel, with the horses traveling as far as six miles from the origin point. Some of the military personnel involved are still receiving medical treatment, and the injured horses underwent surgeries. Quaker is reportedly making significant recovery progress, expected to fully recover, while Vida’s condition continues to be monitored closely by veterinary staff.

This series of events led to several bystanders and soldiers receiving medical attention following their encounters with the loose horses, some of which collided with vehicles, including a taxi and a double-decker bus. The City of London Police managed to recapture all the horses involved. The army has recognized the support and concern expressed by the public during this period and continues to provide care for the affected soldiers and horses.
