Scottie Scheffler secured his second Masters title at Augusta National, confirming his status as the world number one and the pre-tournament favourite. Scheffler finished the tournament 11 under par, four shots ahead of his closest competitor, marking a decisive victory with an impressive final round. The 27-year-old Texan was emotionally moved as he was warmly received by the spectators on the 18th green.

The event also saw a notable performance from Sweden’s Ludvig Aberg, who finished as the runner-up in his impressive debut at a major tournament. English golfer Tommy Fleetwood ended the tournament tied for fourth place with Americans Collin Morikawa and Max Homa, achieving his highest ever Masters finish.

An intriguing aspect of Scheffler’s victory was his preparedness to leave the tournament if his wife had gone into labour with their first child, although this did not eventuate.
