Rebecca Joynes, a 30-year-old maths teacher, is currently on trial at Manchester Crown Court, facing charges related to engaging in sexual activities with two teenage boys. Joynes is accused of initiating an inappropriate relationship with a student, referred to as Boy A, including buying him a designer belt and taking him to her flat in Salford for sexual encounters. Subsequently, while on bail for these charges, it is alleged that Joynes entered into a sexual relationship with another 15-year-old student, identified as Boy B, which resulted in her pregnancy.

Prosecutor Joe Allman has detailed the allegations in court, stating that Joynes exploited her position of trust to groom and engage in sexual activities with the students. Joynes has denied all charges against her, including those specifically involving sexual activity while she was in a position of authority over the students.

The court proceedings are ongoing, with the prosecution presenting evidence of Joynes’ alleged misconduct and her defense contesting these accusations. This case has highlighted significant concerns about safeguarding and the responsibilities of educational professionals.
