The shooting, which took place during a conflict between two groups of teenagers in a public courtyard near Varick Street, saw assailants fleeing the scene on a Citi Bike. In a separate event in Enfield, north London, a man in his 50s was killed and a 16-year-old boy was seriously injured in a double stabbing at midnight. The police swiftly responded, and a 21-year-old man was arrested on charges of murder and causing grievous bodily harm. Detective Chief Inspector Sarah Lee has stated that all individuals involved were known to each other and confirmed that there is no search for additional suspects, urging the community to provide any pertinent information they might have.
