Caitlyn Scott-Lee, a 16-year-old student at Wycombe Abbey School in Buckinghamshire, was found deceased at the school premises. The inquest into her death revealed that she had taken her own life shortly before she was due to receive her first detention for possessing alcohol in her locker.
Her father, Jonathan Scott-Lee, shared memories of Caitlyn, describing her as his “daddy’s girl” and detailing their shared experiences such as scuba diving in the Philippines and skiing in Japan. He expressed deep emotions regarding their relationship, noting that both father and daughter were autistic, which contributed to their profound emotional connection.
According to the information presented at the inquest, Caitlyn had disappeared during a concert at Eton College and was troubled by the prospect of detention. Her struggles were further highlighted through her final diary entries, where she mentioned her distress about the impending disciplinary action and articulated a desire to escape the situation.
