Bacari-Bronze O’Garro, known on TikTok as Mizzy, has been found guilty of theft after forcibly taking an iPhone from a woman in central London and attempting to evade police.
Bacari-Bronze O’Garro, a TikTok influencer known as Mizzy, has been convicted of theft at Highbury Corner Magistrates’ Court in London. The incident occurred on June 15, 2022, in central London when O’Garro, riding a Lime e-bike, forcibly took an iPhone 13 Pro Max from Ruby Hewitt while she was using her device. O’Garro subsequently attempted to evade police and discarded the phone in some bushes. He was later arrested.
During his trial, evidence against O’Garro included his fingerprints on the stolen mobile device. He claimed that the phone had been given to him by a friend, a statement contradicted by the physical evidence. O’Garro’s arrest followed a brief pursuit involving law enforcement officers. Witnesses at the trial testified about the method of the theft and the subsequent police chase.
Hewitt reported experiencing significant distress during the episode which lasted approximately 10 seconds. Despite O’Garro’s defense arguing a lack of conclusive evidence, the magistrate decided in favor of the prosecution based on the testimonies and forensic evidence presented.
O’Garro has been granted unconditional bail and awaits sentencing scheduled for June 13.
