Tower Bridge in London was temporarily closed on Monday following an incident involving a man who scaled the railings. City Of London Police confirmed that the individual had “safely come down” less than an hour after reports of the incident surfaced, with the bridge reopening shortly thereafter.

The occurrence was first documented at the end of the morning on Monday, and the man was safely back on the ground by approximately 12.30 PM. In response to the situation, police advised that the bridge was closed to both traffic and pedestrians, urging the public to “avoid the area where possible.”

Social media reports indicated that firefighters attended the scene, employing a raised ladder to establish communication with the individual atop the railings. Additionally, river traffic along the Thames was reported to have faced disruptions due to the incident.

This event follows a similar occurrence on Saturday, where another individual spent over 16 hours positioned atop the Elizabeth Tower, known as the home of Big Ben. That incident also necessitated the closure of Westminster Bridge to traffic, as onlookers gathered to witness the situation unfold.

The circumstances surrounding these incidents remain under review, and further details are anticipated as the situation develops. The City Of London Police thanked the public for their patience during the disruption.
