The assailant, identified as 40-year-old Joel Cauchi, who reportedly suffered from mental health issues, also killed 38-year-old Ashlee Good as she attempted to protect her nine-month-old baby. Ashlee’s family has expressed gratitude for the support they have received, and it is reported that her baby is on the path to recovery following surgery.
Other victims of this violent incident include Faraz Tahir, a security guard employed at the shopping centre, and Jade Young, a 47-year-old architect. Efforts are underway to contact the relatives of two additional foreign victims, who currently have no family in Australia.
