A young woman fatally stabbed in Bradford and a teenager succumbing to similar injuries in West Bromwich, as police investigations are underway and communities grieve.
In a recent tragic event in Bradford, a young woman, approximately 27 years old and originally from Bangladesh, was fatally stabbed while pushing a pram. Local resident Geo Khan witnessed the incident and, alongside a passing doctor, attempted to save the woman’s life, but she unfortunately succumbed to her injuries. West Yorkshire Police have identified Habibur Masum as a suspect in the case. Masum, an Asian man of slim build, was last seen wearing distinctive clothing, with ties to both Burnley and Chester. The Prime Minister and the Home Office have both expressed their condolences and emphasized the importance of the ongoing investigation, urging anyone with information on Masum’s whereabouts to come forward. The community has been left in shock, mourning the loss with tributes laid at the scene of the attack.
In a separate but equally heartrending incident, a 15-year-old boy was stabbed to death at New Square shopping centre in West Bromwich. Responding late in the evening, emergency services were unable to save the teenager, who died at the scene. West Midlands Police has initiated a murder investigation, spearheaded by Detective Chief Inspector Laura Harrison, and is appealing for witnesses. The shopping centre, known as a popular location filled with shops and entertainment venues, saw increased police patrols and forensic investigations following the stabbing. This marks another incident of violence at New Square, recalling a 2021 event where two police officers were attacked. The police are urgently asking anyone with information to contact them as they seek justice for the young victim.
