Two individuals, Gemma Saundercock, aged 48, and Steve Samson, aged 44, have been charged with the murder of 38-year-old Sarah Mayhew, following the discovery of her remains in Rowdown Fields, New Addington, in Croydon, South London. The Metropolitan Police has confirmed that the investigation is underway, with the suspects also facing additional charges. Alongside the murder charge, Samson has been accused of producing indecent images of a child, a charge which the authorities have stated is unrelated to the murder case.

The police identified the victim as a local resident of Croydon, and her family has been informed of the grim discovery and the subsequent charges. They are currently receiving support from the authorities during this challenging period. The Metropolitan Police expressed their gratitude towards the community for its assistance in the investigation and extended their condolences to Mayhew’s family.
