Human remains discovered in Rowdown Fields, New Addington, Croydon, have been identified as those of 38-year-old Sarah Mayhew. The tragic finding has initiated a murder investigation, leading to the arrest of a 44-year-old man and a 48-year-old woman on suspicion of murder. Both individuals, known to the victim, are currently in custody. The Metropolitan Police have confirmed that the remains belong to Mayhew alone and are not looking for any other suspects at this stage. Three women, aged 28 and 43 (two of them), have been arrested on suspicion of murder and are being held in custody. The incident, which occurred just before 23:30 BST on a Sunday, has prompted an appeal for witnesses and information, particularly from those who were in the vicinity between 23:00 and midnight.
