A critical attack in Dagenham and a tragic shooting in Whaley Bridge lead to multiple arrests and ongoing police investigations.
A 19-year-old man is critically injured after being attacked in Dagenham, East London. The incident occurred on Whalebone Lane South at approximately 5.20 pm on Thursday when the victim, riding his bike, was ambushed and subjected to both stabbing and shooting by a group of men. The Metropolitan Police have detained three individuals, aged 19 and 26, on suspicion of attempted murder. Detective Iain Wallace has called for public assistance in apprehending those responsible. A crime scene remains active, and the investigation continues.
In a separate episode in Whaley Bridge, Derbyshire, police have made two additional arrests related to a burglary and subsequent fatal shooting. Marcus Smith, 19, was found deceased at the scene from gunshot wounds. Alongside Smith’s connection to the local community as a football player and DJ, the police have taken a man in his 30s and a teenager into custody on charges including conspiracy to commit burglary and aiding an offender, respectively. A local farmer in his 50s is being held on suspicion of murder and attempted murder. Police are exploring potential links to another burglary at the property the day before. The community remains in shock as investigations persist.
