Britain is set to expel the Russian defence attaché following allegations of involvement in a suspected arson attack on a Ukrainian-linked business in the UK, as announced by Home Secretary James Cleverly. This action forms part of a wider initiative aimed at curtailing Russian state interference and targeting diplomats involved in hostile operations benefiting Russia.

The expulsion, revealed alongside measures such as the withdrawal of diplomatic status from certain Russian-owned properties and new restrictions on Russian diplomatic visas, is a response to what Cleverly described as a pattern of malicious activity by Vladimir Putin’s regime across Europe.
