Four British women have initiated civil proceedings against social media influencer Andrew Tate at the High Court in London. They accuse him of rape, serious sexual, and physical assaults occurring between 2013 and 2016. This legal action is separate from Tate’s ongoing criminal charges in Romania, where he and his brother Tristan are accused of human trafficking and forming a gang to exploit women.

Andrew Tate, who is based in Romania, has been served with the civil proceedings papers at his home. These actions come after the Crown Prosecution Service decided not to prosecute the cases in 2019. The victims previously reported their allegations to Hertfordshire Constabulary between 2014 and 2015, resulting in a four-year investigation that led to no charges.

Both Andrew and Tristan Tate have denied all allegations against them. They currently face extradition to the UK after the legal proceedings in Romania, stemming from charges which include human trafficking. An European arrest warrant has been issued as part of this investigation.

The plaintiffs have turned to crowdfunding to cover their legal expenses, indicating their determination to seek justice through civil court after their reported dissatisfaction with the criminal justice process. Andrew Tate’s social media presence has been notably affected, with major platforms such as TikTok, Instagram, and Facebook removing his accounts.
