Police and community members are intensively searching for Riley Strain, a 22-year-old University of Missouri student, after he disappeared in Nashville, Tennessee. Strain, last seen on 8th March, had traveled to the city for a fraternity event and was last observed by friends at a downtown Nashville bar from which he was later asked to leave. Video footage captured Strain crossing a downtown street near the bar on the night he vanished.

As part of the search efforts, authorities, including Nashville police and an urban search and rescue team, have conducted extensive land, water, and air searches, focusing areas around the Cumberland River and checking storm drains and dilapidated buildings. Strain’s parents, Michelle and Chris Whiteid, have also joined the search, expressing concerns over the uncharacteristic lack of communication from Riley, who is known to contact his family daily.

The Tennessee Alcoholic Beverage Commission (TABC) is investigating the bar, owned by country music star Luke Bryan, for potential overserving of alcohol to Strain before his disappearance. The TC Restaurant Group, which operates the 32BRIDGE bar, is cooperating with authorities by providing security footage. The TABC reminds businesses of the prohibition against serving alcohol to visibly intoxicated individuals, emphasizing legal responsibilities and potential penalties.

Despite the circumstances leading up to his disappearance, Nashville police have stated there are no signs of foul play involved. The possibility of a voluntary disappearance or a medical incident is being explored, with Sergeant Bob Neilsen of the Metro Nashville Police emphasizing the ongoing investigation into all potential leads.

Riley’s disappearance has mobilized both local community members and University of Missouri officials and students in the search efforts. Luke Bryan has expressed concern over the situation, and the university has offered support to Riley’s family and other students affected by the incident. As the search for Riley Strain continues, authorities and his loved ones remain hopeful for his safe return, urging anyone with information to come forward.
